  • 01 Day 1:

    Allow us to welcome you on your first day to this Paradise isle

    • Meet our designated tour guide at the arrival hall of Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport and leave for Negombo known to many as “Little Rome” and the fourth largest city.
    • Relax at the hotel before commencement of your tour in Sri Lanka that will give you an insightful experience specializing in religious and cultural aspects of Sri Lanka
    • After an early breakfast, start your adventure into the Sri Lankan culture by visiting the lifestyle of people living in Negombo.
    • Visit Fort Gate which dates back to 1672
    • Visit colonial constructions in the city including a lovely Dutch Church
    • Witness Negombo’s Christian majority by visiting 2 large churches – Grand Street and Sea Street Churches. Walk by the Dutch canal and see Negombo Lagoon
    • Visit Negombo Fishing Harbour – the second largest harbour in Sri Lanka.
    • Experience the beautiful sandy beaches located in Negombo.
  • 02 Day 2:

    A visit to the first Royal Kingdom of Sri Lanka

    • After an early breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Anuradhapura, the first Royal Kingdom of Sri Lanka
    • En-Route, enjoy the sceneries that you pass by
    • Enjoy the scenic beauty of Tissa Wewa (a lake constructed between 250-210 BC)Anuradhapura
    • Visit Sri Maha Bodhi – The Sacred and Historic Bodhi tree.

    (Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a Sacred Fig tree in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is said to be the southern branch from the historical Bodhi tree Sri Maha Bodhi at Bodh Gaya in India under which Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment. It was planted in 288 BC. and is the oldest living human-planted tree in the world with a known planting date. Today it is one of the most sacred relics of the Buddhists in Sri Lanka and respected by Buddhists all over the world.)

    • After an early breakfast at the hotel restaurant check out from the hotel and leave for Polonnaruwa- the second Royal Kingdom of Sri Lanka
    • Visit the Royal Palace of the King Parakramabahu (12th century) - an impressive seven storied building with palatial rooms, audience halls, and chambers famous for its fine stone carvings and timberwork.

  • 06 Day 6:

    Aboriginal Walkabout on the sixth day

    • Visit Aborigines in Mahiyanganaya

    Mahiyangana is home to the land of the aborigines known as “Veddahs” meaning people of the forest who are in fact on the list of the world’s primitive tribes. Located 185 kilometres from the capital Colombo on the South East region of Matale, this dry historic yet highly developed town, is rich in agriculture and livestock farming. Legend says that Lord Buddha first preached here during his first visit to Sri Lanka. From as early as 18,000 BCE, a genetic continuum is shown with present-day Veddas

    • In the evening, witness a cultural performance in Kandy
  • 07 Day 7:

    Hit the Hills

    • After breakfast leave the hotel to visit the temple of the tooth relic which is the most precious possession for Buddhists
    • Visit a novel Gem Museum, which has been created in a cave setting, and be awestruck by the gems and some interesting Sri Lankan artifacts.
    • Visit Batik and handicraft boutiques.
    • Walk along the pathway around the Kandy Lake and capture some memorable scenery.
    • Visit ambekke Devalaya and Gandaladeni Viharaya
    • Proceed to Nuwara Eliya in the evening

    Long Day on the road

    • After breakfast go on a Nuwara Eliya City tour and visit (Gregory Lake,Clair’s waterfalls,Devon waterfalls)
    • Visit Holy Trinity church Nuwara Eliya
    • Take part in a tea plucking demonstration
    • Pass by the dwelling place of the tea-pluckers and Hindu kovils
    • Pass by Visit the mosque in Nuwara Eliya
    • En-route, visit the Leeks, Potatoes, Beet Roots, carrots and other cultivation sites.
    • Pass by Welimada town
    • Visit Dowa temple in Bandarawela.
    • Visit Adhisham Bungalow – prominent for Catholic monastery known for its organic agriculture and manufacturing.
    • Visit the Hindu Kovil located in the heart of the Haputale town
    • Enjoy the scenery of the abyss just below the Haputale town
    • Proceed to Kataragama, a comprehensive site worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists
    • Observe the religious rites practised by the devotees
    • Arrive in Tissamaharama
  • 09 Day 9:

    Experience a safari second only to an African safari

    • After an early breakfast, get ready to go on an adventurous wildlife safari into Yala National Park
    • Go on a jeep safari and sight elephants, leopards, deer, sloth bear and many other species.
    • Return to the hotel and leisure time in the afternoon.
    • Visit Tissamaharama Rajamaha Vihara in the evening
  • 10 Day 10:

    Lunch in the Fort

    • After an early breakfast leave for Matara a destination in Down South.
    • En-route, pass by Tangalle city, noted among beach vacationers
    • Visit Wewurukannala Viharaya which houses the largest statue of Buddha in Sri Lanka.
    • Before reaching Matara pass by Weherahena Viharaya
    • Visit Matara Roman Catholic Church which confronted Tsunami tidal waves in 2004
    • Visit the historic Galle Fort built by the Dutch (built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century).
    • Walk on the wide wall of the fortress
    • Visit Dutch Reformed Church
    • Proceed to Bentota and En-Route visit the turtle hatchery and if time permits go on a river safari at Madu River
  • 11 Day 11:

    Head to Colombo

    • After breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Colombo – the commercial capital of Sri Lanka and experience the hustle and bustle in plenty.
    • En-Route, pass by Kalutara Viharaya – the greatest possession to Buddhists living in the Kalutara District
    • Visit Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya the history of which dates back to 5th Century BC
  • 12 Day 12:

    Bidding Adieu

    • After breakfast leave to visit Ganagaramaya Seemamalakaya, a more than 120 year old landmark in the city
    • Visit Galle face Green – the largest open space in the Colombo city and pass by the old parliament.
    • Visit Colombo Dutch hospital – an elegant shopping precinct and handcraft shops available in the area along with a number of fine dining restaurants.
    • Pass by the Town Hall (the building of the Colombo Municipal Council), a huge architectural structure located in the Colombo city.
    • Breakfast at the hotel restaurant
    • Visit Kochchikade St. Anthony’s Church – loved by all people living around irrespective of their religion.
    • Visit Colombo Grand Mosque - the most important of Colombo’s many mosques
    • Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Lanka – the largest Catholic Church of Sri Lanka
    • Reminisce what you’ve seen and learnt with your visits to sights of cultural, religious and heritage value

History of the City



Negombo - The picturesque town of Negombo, often referred to as Little Rome, has an Old World atmosphere of 17th Century Churches and Forts. The Negombo lagoon is a good place to watch the fishermen at work, some still using the ‘oruwa’, a dugout outrigger canoe, whose prehistoric evolution can be traced from the Comoro Islands off Mozambique to the South Seas. The canal system is the most evident Dutch relic here, and stretches 80 miles from Colombo to Puttalam.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress - The 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual natural beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes were painted using earth pigments on plaster.

Dambulla - is famous for the five cave Temples on a rock. The first 03 caves are better, older and larger than the other two. Some caves date to the 1st century B.C. All 5 cave walls and ceilings are covered with Buddhist murals and there are more than 130 Buddha statues, and statues of Gods and Kings.

Anuradhapura - Visit the ruins of the first capital founded in the 05th century BC and you will find the largest number of ancient monuments of a great civilization. Buddhism found its first real home in Sri Lanka at Anuradhapura, and it thus contains some of Sri Lankan Buddhism’s most secret sights. The “Sri Maha Bodhi” tree in Anuradhapura, planted from a cutting from the original “Bo Tree” under which the Buddha received enlightenment, continue to draw thousands of Buddhist pilgrims from around the world. The pillars of the brazen palace which once had nine stories, the image of the Samadhi Buddha which is one of the finest pieces of Buddhists sculpture, the twin ponds, guard-stones and the moon-stones are amazing remains of a great civilization. There are also monuments such as Ruwanveli Seya Dagoba with its famous elephant wall from the 2nd Century B.C. and the Thuparama Dagaba from the 3rd Century B.C.

Wilpattu National Park - (Willu-pattu; Land of Lakes) is a park located in the island of Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" (Natural lakes) - Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater and located in the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka. The park is located 30 km west Anuradhapura and located 26 km north of Puttalam (approximately 180 km north of Colombo). The park is 131, 693 hectares and ranges from 0 to 152 meters above sea level. Nearly sixty lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu. Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world renowned for its Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. The Leopard population in Wilpattu is still not yet known.

Polonnaruwa - Visit Polonnaruwa, which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and which is a world heritage site. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in 'Upright', 'Sedentary' and 'Recumbent' postures carved out of rock could be seen and also the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, the statue of King Parakramabahu, and the Parakrama Samudraya - a lake built by King Parakramabahu the great. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilake, the Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Mahiyangana - is home to the land of the aborigines known as “Veddahs” meaning people of the forest who are in fact on the list of the world’s primitive tribes. The Mahaweli River water is diverted to Mahiyangana, to enable farmers to do their cultivation which is a main source of income to the community. Legend says that Lord Buddha first preached here during his first visit to Sri Lanka. Situated at a great location by Mahaweli river Mahiyangana provide access to several National parks, Bird watching Locations and Sanctuaries. Mahiyangana Rajmaha Viharaya, Sorabora Wewa Tank, Dambana Veddhas, Ulhitiya Wewa, Minipe, Randenigala, Maduruoya, Wasgomuwa are major Attractions here Kandy, the laidback capital of the hill country, and the historical bastion of Buddhist power, is built around a peaceful lake and set in a picturesque bowl of hills. Today it is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts and Culture. Here, you will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’s hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was started in 1975 to house abandoned and wounded elephants. The sanctuary covers 25 acres of lush vegetation with an approximate population of about 77 elephants, consisting of both adults and babies. The best time to visit is the feeding time and the bathing time; when all the elephants are taken to the river close by. Colombo is the hub of commerce and administration of Sri Lanka. Colombo was a fort city during the times of occupation by successive European powers and architecture of buildings is a blend of the past influences. Historic places of visit include, the Colombo Museum, the Independence Square, and Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Town Hall and Parliament
